Getting Started

New to the Club?

How do I register my child?
Head to our registration page on PlayHQ via the "Register Now" button on this site. You'll be able to select the appropriate age group and program. If you need help choosing, email registrations@nsdjcc.com.au.
What age groups are available?
We cater for boys and girls aged 5 to 17. Programs include Cricket Blast (5+), Master Blaster (U7–U8), and Stage 1 through Stage 3 teams for older players, plus Graded & Turf teams.
My child has never played cricket — is that OK?
Absolutely! We welcome players of all skill levels. Our Cricket Blast and Master Blaster programs are specifically designed for beginners, with all equipment provided in a fun, social environment.
When does the season run?
The cricket season runs from September to April. Cricket Blast runs October to March, and Master Blaster from October to April.
What equipment does my child need?
For beginners (Cricket Blast and Master Blaster), all equipment is provided. For stage cricket, players will need their own bat, pads, gloves, and helmet — but the club can help with equipment if needed. Contact us for advice.
What about the uniform?
Every player receives a free training top and shorts. New-to-club players also receive a free playing top, pants, and wide brimmed hat. You'll get a discount code at registration to order from our uniform partner, 2Reds Club Shop.
Match Days

Game Day Info

Where and when are games played?
Games are played on Saturdays at various grounds across the lower North Shore, including North Sydney Oval, St Leonards Park, Gore Hill Oval, Tunks Park, and Bon Andrews Oval. Times vary by age group — check our Fixtures page for details.
How long do matches go for?
Weekend games are typically around 2 hours (20 overs). Some older age groups play longer formats (30 or 32 overs).
What if it rains?
If games are affected by rain, your team manager will notify you. The NSJCA has specific weather and ground condition protocols for each stage of competition.
Do parents need to stay at the ground?
For younger age groups (Cricket Blast and Master Blaster), parents are encouraged to participate and stay. For older age groups, a parent or guardian should be present or contactable during the game.
The Club

About NSDJCC

Is there girls cricket?
Yes! We have a vibrant and growing girls cricket program with dedicated all-girls teams across Stage 1, 2, and 3. Visit our Girls Cricket page for full details.
What's the difference between Cricket Blast, Master Blaster, and stage cricket?
Cricket Blast (ages 5+) and Master Blaster (U7–U8) are introductory programs with modified rules and soft balls — great for beginners. Stage cricket (Stage 1–3, U9–U17) is more structured competition using standard cricket rules and leather balls.
Can my child play if we're away for part of the season?
Yes — just let your team manager know in advance. We understand families have holidays and other commitments during the season.
Can I volunteer or coach?
We'd love your help! The club relies on parent volunteers for coaching, managing, scoring, and umpiring. Contact us at registrations@nsdjcc.com.au or speak to your team coordinator.
How do I eScore a match on PlayHQ?
Parents are often asked to help score matches using PlayHQ's electronic scoring system. It's straightforward once you've seen how it works. Watch this step-by-step eScoring tutorial on YouTube to learn the basics before your first game.
What are the BEARS values?
BEARS stands for Belonging, Effort, Attitude, Resilience, and Spirit. These values guide everything we do at the club — on and off the field. Visit our About page to learn more.
