Girls Cricket

A dedicated girls program built around skills, fun, friendship, and confidence — on and off the field.

We welcome players from all skill levels, whether you're just starting out or looking to grow into representative cricket. Our girls teams train and compete in the NSJCA competition, with formats and pathways designed to match skill level, interest, and ambition.

All-girls teams with experienced coaches who build skill and confidence in a positive, supportive team environment — with a clear pathway to representative and senior cricket. Beyond the regular season, our girls have the opportunity to represent the club in tournaments like the University of Canberra Cup and the Junior Community Cup.

The season runs from September to April. If your player is under 8 years old or new to cricket, please email the club for support on which team format will suit best.

Coaching & Development

Training That Makes a Difference

Our girls program is led by Michelle Goszko — former Australian cricketer who scored a double century on her Test debut and played 34 ODIs for Australia. Michelle is a Cricket NSW Life Member and one of the most experienced women's cricket coaches in the country. At NSDJCC, she brings that elite knowledge to every training session.

Our coaching staff includes current players from the UTS North Sydney senior women's grade side — meaning our girls are coached by women who are actively playing the game at a high level. It's a direct connection between our junior and senior clubs, and a pathway our players can see and aspire to.

Wednesday Team Training

Where: Bon Andrews Oval, North Sydney

When: Wednesdays during the season

Details: Girls-only training right in the heart of North Sydney. Sessions are run by Michelle and our senior women's players, covering batting, bowling, fielding, and game scenarios. All skill levels welcome.

Pre-Season Academy

Where: Cricket Central & local ovals

When: 6 weeks on weekends before the season starts

Details: A dedicated pre-season program run by Michelle Goszko to get players ready for the season ahead. A fantastic way to sharpen your skills, build fitness, and hit the ground running when the season starts.

Batting Intensives

Where: Indoor facility

When: Tuesday evenings during the season

Details: Dedicated batting sessions with ball machines to build technique and confidence at the crease. Options for 2-to-1 coaching are available for players wanting more focused development, or just get in front of the ball machine and hit.

Whether you're picking up a bat for the first time or preparing for representative cricket, there are genuine opportunities at NSDJCC to improve your game and be coached by people who've played at the highest level.

Beyond the Season

Represent the Bears

Our girls program goes beyond the regular Saturday competition. We enter teams into representative tournaments that give players the chance to travel, compete against new opponents, and experience the thrill of playing for their club on a bigger stage.

University of Canberra Cup

For the past two seasons, NSDJCC has entered an U14 girls team into the University of Canberra Cup — a multi-day tournament held in Canberra at the start of the season. The team travels together, plays five games of cricket, and gets a taste of representative-level competition away from home.

2025–26: UC Cup Champions!

Junior Community Cup

In 2025–26 we entered an U13 girls team into the inaugural Junior Community Cup — a T20 competition that brings some of the excitement of the BBL to club cricket. Free hits, power plays, and power surges made for fast and thrilling games against out-of-area club sides.

The highlight? Playing our first ever T20 under lights.
